2022 Tsunami

2022 Tsunami is a 2022 disaster film written,directed and produced by Toranong Srichua. The film depicts a fictional scenario in which a tsunami hits Bangkok, Thailand. The film has a budget of 160 million Thai bhat and a running time of 130 minutes.

 

The story begins with protests led by passionate individuals who perform acts of vandalism such as roadblocks and clashes with police. In this environment, the Thai government is led by Prime Minister Traipop. Prime Minister Traipop is a young politician known for putting the public interest ahead of political considerations. Eighteen years after the devastating 2004 tsunami, the Traipop government established the National Disaster Alert Center, headed by Dr. Siam and a team of young professionals.

  In Dr. Siam, there is growing concern over the possibility of a tsunami in the Gulf of Thailand. He tries to warn Chancellor Traipop of impending danger. However, despite his best efforts, the warning was ignored. Finally, on his 13th April, coinciding with Songkran Day (Thai New Year), a tsunami hit Bangkok, causing chaos (A state of extreme confusion and disorder) and destruction. The film chronicles the devastating aftermath of the tsunami as the city grapples with its devastating effects. Characters are thrown into a race against time to survive and overcome dangerous situations. The story highlights the resilience and determination of people uniting to rescue survivors and rebuild shattered lives.

20022 Tsunami explores themes of preparedness, the importance of following warnings, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of natural disasters. Through its compelling plot and realistic portrayal of the destructive power of tsunamis, the film raises awareness of the potential impact of such events and emphasizes the need for disaster preparedness and response.
